Editing a survey: you tested your survey, you sent it to your customers to collect responses and now you\u2019re ready to collect your data. But all of a sudden\u00a0you realize you forgot a question or one of your options is incorrect.<\/strong><\/p>\n

What to do now? Is it correct to edit a live survey or we have to accept the error and go on?<\/em><\/p>\n

Yes to editing a survey, but be careful<\/h2>\n

Editing a survey is always possible:<\/strong>\u00a0errare humanum est<\/em>\u00a0(\u201cTo err is human\u201d<\/em>) and we don\u2019t have a time machine yet. But it\u2019s good practice to keep in mind some expedients.<\/p>\n

1<\/td>\nBefore editing make sure your survey is \u201cnot live\u201d<\/b>
\nWe suggest to\u00a0set your survey link on \u201cnot live\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and to put it back on just after your editing is done.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
2<\/td>\nHow many answers did you get?<\/b>
\n\u2043\u00a0if you got no answer,<\/strong>\u00a0you can edit the entire survey without corrupting answers
\n\u2043\u00a0if you got few answers,<\/strong>\u00a0you can still do some editing without conditioning results<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nEditing or adding an answer option can be a good way to correct survey errors especially if you used\u00a0matrix questions<\/em>. Be very careful if you decide to delete survey questions as it may corrupt your data. It\u2019s better to hide it with a special logic condition.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nDid you forget a specific question?<\/em>\u00a0You can always add that. But remember to\u00a0add it in the rightest position<\/strong>\u00a0so that the survey still has the correct logic flow.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
